As we head fully into the holiday season, this is the time of year when our business really reflects on what matters most. Community. Kindness. And helping where we can.

It’s also a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness truly matter.

December is a time when giving back feels especially important to us. Throughout the year, we are grateful to donate goods from our clients to organizations such as Mission Thrift, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, and more.

In November, we raised $300 from our October sales for CAP, the Cancer Assistance Program, https://cancerassist.ca/.  We have also donated food and money to our local foodbanks through grocery stores, Hamilton Food Share https://hamiltonfoodshare.org/, Food For Friends, and Show Kids You Care.Halton Women’s Shelter receives funds every year as well, along with The Angel Project The Angel Project Canada – Charitable Organization  out of Burlington, run by my friend Lisette. They support vulnerable people in hospitals and those coming out of care who do not have family or the funds needed during a difficult time.

Supporting One Local Home This Season

One of the things I would like to do in the next month is help one home in desperate need.

The requirements are simple. They must live in Hamilton, Grimsby, or Burlington. It must be a non-smoking home with no infestations. Everyone living there needs to be on board with getting help and be willing to maintain the space after we are gone.

If you know someone who would benefit from this support, please reply to this email and share some background information. I will be choosing one home.

A Special Holiday Offer From A Trusted Partner:

I would like to share that The Court at Rushdale, Senior Residence in Hamilton are running a special offer. They are offering 50% off January and February, with limited suites available. If you or someone you know is considering retirement living, you can reach out directly to Joanne Flesher, Community Sales Manager at The Court at Rushdale. Her direct email is: Joanne.flesher@atriaretirement.ca or you can reach her via tele at (905) 575-6832.

And if you have a special promotion or an announcement concerning seniors that you would like me to share in a future newsletter, please reply to this email and let me know.

Why Vision Matters For Life And For Your Home

Recently, I had the pleasure of attending an empowering Vision Board event hosted by one of our referral partners, Izabela Kvesic, at a local winery, and I was proud to be part of a group photo that was featured in Burlington Today. If you would like to see the article, you can find it here!

Having a vision is not just important for business or life goals. It is just as important for your home. Your home is the centre of your life. It should support you, not overwhelm you. When your space aligns with how you want to live, everything feels lighter and more manageable.

A Gentle Holiday Reminder For A More Mindful Holiday Season

This season, I encourage you to buy less stuff and think more about experiences, help, and connection. Share time with loved ones. Help someone with shovelling or groceries. Say thank you when someone lets you in traffic. That simple hand wave really does matter. Smile and offer compliments whenever you can. You never know what kind of day someone is having.

If you are able, consider giving blood. Dale and I will be going on Wednesday for the first time together and if it goes well, we will plan to do it twice a year.

Our team dinner last year

Be happy. Be merry. Be kind.
